Funeral services for Felton Cline Shook Jr., 66, of Alto, are scheduled for 2 p.m. today, May 31, at the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with Kasey McEntire reading a eulogy written by the Rev. Rich Hulsey and Bishop Clarence Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in B.C. Grant Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Sanford Kimbrell officiating.

Mr. Shook died Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born Oct. 9, 1946, in Clarkesville, he was the son of Ellene Trotter Shook and the late Felton Cline Shook Sr. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Marcella Giaquinta.

Mr. Shook was previously employed with Coats and Clark and was of the Holiness faith. In his spare time he enjoyed being with his many friends, fishing, sports, Western square dancing and being in the great outdoors.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Opal Ferguson Shook of Alto; mother, Ellene Trotter Shook of Clarkesville; sister-in-law, Eunice Ferguson of Alto; brother-in-law, Robert “Bob” Giaquinta of Demorest; nephews and spouses, Mike and Katrina Giaquinta, Charles and Beth Giaquinta and Anthony and Kathy Giaquinta, all of Clarkesville; two great-nieces; and a host of other relatives and friends.
