Mrs. Coker died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013 at Habersham Medical Center.
Born Dec. 8, 1920, she was the daughter of the late William Orrie and Ora Lee Brookshire Watson. She was a lifelong native of Habersham County. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ford Coker; son-in-law, Jim Gunnels; sisters, Myrtis Allen and Alice Watson; and brothers, Jesse Watson, Vermon Watson and Branson Watson.
She was the co-owner and operator of Coker’s Upholstry for many years and also enjoyed traveling. Mrs. Coker was the oldest lifelong member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are her daughter, Gail Gunnels of Clarkesville; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Roy Stewart of Macon; grandchildren, Deloney (Melinda) Gunnels of Clarkesville, Kim (Lee) Staska of Tucker, Terry (Angela) Gunnels of Lawrenceville and Scott (Maria) Stewart of Locust Grove; great-grandchildren, Krystal (Joseph) Hanke, Jami Staska, Ashlyn Gunnels, Mason Ford Stewart, Morgan Stewart and Vanessa Stewart.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25.
