Rev. Campbell went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, peacefully at home.
Born Dec. 2, 1930, in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Rev. Garnett Clifton Campbell Sr. and Ruth Mauldin Campbell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nathalie Gabrels Campbell; sisters, Frances Campbell Hicks, Glenda Campbell Porter; and a brother, G.C. Campbell Jr.
Mr. Campbell was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Korean Conflict. He was a Baptist minister for 49 years and a member of Amy’s Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Brenda C. Anderson of Mt. Airy; daughter and son-in-law, Linda C. and Jack Moody of Baldwin; daughter, Lynn C. Alger of Harrisonburg, Va.; sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Kathy Campbell of Cleveland, and Ray and Deborah Campbell of Cornelia; sister, Shirley Roberts of Clarkesville; brother, James A. Campbell of Social Circle; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., today, Dec. 14, at the funeral home.
