Funeral services for Addie Marie Ballew Chosewood, 86, of Alto, are scheduled for 11 a.m., today, July 20, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, with the Rev. Clarence Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in the Alto Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery with Rachel Hooper officiating.

Mrs. Chosewood died Wednesday, July 18, 2012.

Born Dec. 23, 1925, in Habersham County she was the daughter of the late Lon Bartow and Lillie Maebelle McClellon Stephens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert “Bob” Ballew; two grandchildren, Alan and Bobby Cameron; two brothers, Joe and Hoyt Stephens; and three sisters, Georgia Lou Cantrell, Zona Jordan and Hazel Bennett.

Mrs. Chosewood was a charter member of Alto Congregational Holiness Church and was the oldest living charter member at the time of her passing.

Survivors include her husband, William Chosewood of Alto; five daughters, Joyce Myers of Alto, Joanne Cameron of Cornelia, Janell Purdy of Alto, Janet Green of Cornelia, and Jackie Ballew of Alto; two stepsons, Max Chosewood of Alto, and Marshall Chosewood of Alto; 12 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
