Mr. Waters died Thursday, March 8, 2012, at his residence.
Born Aug. 24, 1921, in Rabun County, he was the son of the late Malachi and Ollie Nichols Waters. He was preceded in death by a brother, Chester Waters, and a sister, Alice Elliott, and was the last member of his immediate family.
Mr. Waters was a landscaper by trade and was a member of Black Rock Baptist Church. He enjoyed working and spending time outdoors.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Harrison and Kathy Waters of Clatyon, James and Joyce Waters of Tiger; daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Monroe Queen of Clayton, Diane and Gary Taylor of Mountain City, Dorothy and Boyd Carnes of Tiger and Sharon and Chris York of Demorest; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Saturday, March 10.
