Ms. Barrett died Tuesday, March 27, 2012.
Born Aug. 27, 1963, in Habersham County, she was a daughter of Johnnie Bell Phillips and James Charlie Barrett. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Grady and Mattie Barrett; grandmother, Ruth Bell; stepgrandmother, Lillie Bell; and brother, Ricky Barrett.
She was currently employed as a Certified Nurses’ Assistant. She was of the Christian faith and attended New Vision Worship Center. Amber was a devoted caregiver and a loving mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, grandmother and friend. She was the comedian of her family and always lived life to the fullest with a smile. She also loved music and singing.
Survivors include her son, Chazman Barrett of Conyers; daughters, Angelica Barrett and Alisha Hancock, both of Conyers; grandchildren, Tatiana Cowen and Brooklyn Nicole Barrett; mother, Johnnie Bell Phillips of Mt. Airy; father and stepmother, James C. and Barbara Barrett of Cornelia; grandfather, Bob Bell of Mt. Airy; brothers, Michael Barrett of Spokane, Wash., Aaron Barner of Cornelia, Anthony Barrett of Easton, Pa., Grady Barrett of Cornelia, James A. Barrett of Mt. Airy and T.J. Barrett of Cornelia; sisters, Vickie Farivar of Cornelia, Janice Barrett of Conyers and Sabrina Barrett of Cornelia.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today, March 30.
