Funeral services for Betty Lou Croy, 73, of Cornelia, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 1, at the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Benfield and the Rev. Clarence Reynolds officiating.

Mrs. Croy died Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born Aug. 9, 1940, in White County, she was a daughter of the late William Worth Arrowood and Mary Lee Eller Arrowood. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Croy; sister, Iva Lee Pilgrim; brothers, Leon, Bobby and William “Bud” Arrowood; and granddaughter, Esmeralda Lopez.

Mrs. Croy was a poultry worker with Fieldale Farms and a member of The Torch Worship Center. She also attended Bethesda Fellowship Congregational Holiness Church and enjoyed fishing, camping, watching old movies, and spending time with children and grandchildren.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Tommy Armour and Esperanza Lopez Armour of Flowery Branch; daughters and sons-in-law, Betty Jean Ward and Donald Ray Ward of Cornelia and Betty Ann Swing and William Cicero Swing IV of Carnesville; sisters, Linda Morris of Cornelia, Lou Watson of Dalton, and Gracie Mae Powell of Flowery Branch; brothers, Harvey Joe Arrowood of Toccoa and Charles Arrowood of Cleveland; five grandsons, four granddaughters; four great-granddaughters and four great-grandsons.
