Funeral services for Betty Ruth Franklin, 64, of Mt. Airy, were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, with the Rev. Larry Free and Jeff Echols officiating. Burial followed in Welcome Home Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Franklin died Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born Nov. 16, 1948, in Habersham County, she was the daughter of the late James Landon and Daisy Bramlett Franklin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Franklin.

Mrs. Franklin was employed with Mt. Vernon Mills and formerly employed with Chicopee Manufacturing for a number of years.

Survivors include her husband, Bud Smith of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Auston Shook, Cale Shook, Christina Smith, and Clara Smith; and special cousins, Brenda Mazzarollo of Alto, and Chad Gibson.
