Funeral services for Carolyn Burrell Stinespring, 93, of Cornelia, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 30, at Cornelia United Methodist Church with Dr. James Hughes officiating. Burial followed in Level Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Stinespring died Wednesday, March 27, 2013.

Born Dec. 15, 1919, in Cornelia, she was the daughter of the late Winfred and Mae Davis Burrell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Price Stinespring; brothers, Henry Burrell and Clay Burrell; sisters, Jean Bell, Winnie Lovell, and Annie Ruth Burrell; and grandson, Matthew Dockins. Mrs. Stinespring was a retired employee of Gold’s Department Store with many years of service. She was a member of Cornelia United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Sam Pittard of Hoschton, and Mary and Bill Cox of Burns, Tenn.; sons and daughters-in-law, Curtis and Carolyn Stinespring of Turnerville, Fred and Margaret Stinespring of Mt. Airy, and David and Joy

Stinespring of Baldwin; sister, Betty Brannen of Atlanta; brother, Wallace Burrell of Atlanta; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
