Funeral services for David Franklin Cantrell, 55, of Mt. Airy, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at Hazel Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Burrell and the Rev. Trent Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Cantrell died Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.

Born Dec. 15, 1956, in Hall County, he was a son of Catherine Smith Cantrell of Mt. Airy and the late Frank Cantrell.

Mr. Cantrell was self-employed in the furniture industry for many years. He enjoyed hunting and collecting guns. Mr. Cantrell was a member of Hazel Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his brother and sister-in-law, Kim and Aundrea Cantrell; sister, Denise Cantrell; nephew, Josh Cantrell, all of Mt. Airy; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. today, Oct. 17.

Flowers accepted or memorials may be made in David’s memory to Hazel Creek Baptist Church, 243 Hazel Creek Church Road, Mt. Airy, GA 30563.
