Funeral services for Donald Dorsey Galloway, 79, Cleveland, were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 21, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, with the Rev. Roy Lee Mitchell, the Rev. Michael Wilkes, the Rev. Milton Harris and the Rev. Chad Parham officiating. Burial will follow in Leatherwood Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors provided by Habersham County American Legion Post No. 84, Grant Reeves VFW Post No. 7720, and Rabun County DAV Chapter No. 15.

Mr. Galloway died Friday, July 19, 2013, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born March 21, 1934, in Banks County, he was the son of the late Hershel and Elsie Norton Galloway. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill, Talmadge, Alford and Dwain Galloway.

Mr. Galloway was a United States Army veteran, having served his country during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired truck driver and electrician. Mr. Galloway was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church.

Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years, Joyce Thomas Galloway of Cleveland; daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Larry Loggins of Demorest, and Joyce “Pete” and David Abbott of Alto; daughter, Brenda Galloway of Cornelia; son and daughter-in-law, Mack and Missy Galloway of Demorest; son, Donald “Toad” Galloway of Mt. Airy; sisters, Geraldine Mason of Alto, Bobbie Galloway of Gainesville; sister and brother-in-law, Grace and George Ivester of Turnerville; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
