Eleanor Mae Proper, 90, of Stuart, Fla., died Feb. 10, 2013, at Parkway Health and Rehab.

Born in Pittsburgh, Pa., she resided in Stuart, Fla., since 1955, coming from Union City, Pa.

Before retiring, she was in the catering business in Stuart, Fla., for 28 years.

Mrs. Proper was of the Baptist faith and attended First Baptist Church of Stuart, Fla. She was a “Rosie the Riveter” during World War II. Eleanor was a member of Martin Volunteers, with more than 5,000 volunteer hours serving many organizations. She loved animals of all kind.

She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Lloyd William Proper, and her daughter, Sandra Mae Proper.

She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Harrison of Sebring, Fla., and Andrea Harper of Baldwin; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
