Funeral services for Elsie May Davis, 58, of Mt. Airy, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 13, at the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Burrell and the Rev. Trent Smith officiating. Burial followed in Hazel Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Davis died Friday, May 11, 2012.

Born April 4, 1954, in Ripley, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Pat and Julia Gates Ramsey.

Mrs. Davis was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker. She enjoyed fishing and gardening. She was also a professional baker.

Surviving are her husband of 28 years, Kermit Davis of Mt. Airy; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Megan Williams of Cornelia; son, Andy Williams of Cornelia; daughter, Amy Beck of Toccoa; sisters, Joann Eaton of Clover, S.C., Dorothy Skeen of Alexis, N.C., Faye Hart of Ripley, W.Va., and Patty Robinson of Shenandoah, Va.; brothers, Cecil Gates and Harold Dooley, both of Parkersburg, W.Va., Allen Ramsey of Ravenswood, W.Va., and her twin brother, Cleland Ramsey of Cherryville, N.C.; and one grandson, Justin Williams.
