Harold “Harry” J. Wohlert, 72, of Clarkesville died Nov. 28, 2011, at his residence. A celebration of his life was held Wednesday, Nov. 30.

Born Oct. 1, 1939, in Hartland, Ill., Harry was the son of the late Henry C. and Rosina Kloeckner Wohlert. In addition to his parents, Harry is preceded in death by a brother Richard Wohlert and sister Nancy Ponsler.

Harry was a United States Air Force veteran. He worked for Commonweath Edison for 11 years and Florida Power and Light (NextEra Energy) for 25 years. Harry was a lineman and later a labor manager, but his love was as a lineman. After moving from Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., to Clarkesville in 1996, Harry started his repairs and remodeling business where many of the buildings and structures in the Clarkesville community are restored to their original beauty as a result of his passionate work.  

Survivors include his wife, Marie Brooke Wohlert of Clarkesville; son, Michael Wohlert (Priscilla) of Lake Worth, Fla., and their children, Weston and Elle; daughter, Michelle Yales (Scott) of Chatham, N.J.; and sisters, Pat Pierce of Woodstock, Ill. and Donna Wolf (Mat) of McHenry, Ill.
