Funeral services for Hayward Bryson, 84, of Amy’s Creek Community, Clarkesville, are scheduled for 2, July 25, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, with the Rev. Danny Jarrard and the Rev. Donald Grizzle officiating. Burial will follow in Crescent Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Donald Fuller officiating.

Mr. Bryson died Tuesday, July 22, 2014.

Born Dec. 15, 1929, in Macon County, N.C., he was a son of the late Zeb and Margaret Watkins Bryson. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Hershel Bryson, Ray Bryson and Harold Bryson; and sister, Dorothy Bryson.

Mr. Bryson was a member of Crescent Hill Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served his country during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Bryson was a retired motor grader operator for Habersham County with 36 years of dedicated service.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Willis Bryson of Clarkesville; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Karen Bryson of Mt. Airy, and Robert and Carla Bryson of Clarkesville; sister, Edith Holt of Clarkesville; brothers, Neville Bryson of Clarkesville, and Paul Bryson of Homer; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
