Mr. Gragg died Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at Habersham Home – East.
Born June 1, 1919, in Rabun County, he was the son of the late Dan and Texie Shedd Gragg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Tyler Gragg; son, Bobby Gragg; as well as six brothers and two sisters. He was the last member of his immediate family.
Mr. Gragg was of the Baptist faith and he was a self-employed farmer. He learned to play the guitar at a very young age. Hobert would play the guitar and his wife Anne would sing. Together they passed their talents and love for music on to several of their children. Mr. Gragg was also an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fox hunting as well as raising and training Walker hound dogs.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Lee Moore of Demorest and Kathy and Johnny Bryant of Mt. Airy; sons and daughters-in-law, Lonnie and Betty Gragg of Toccoa and Leroy and Diane Gragg of Cleveland; son, Bruce Gragg of Homer; as well as nine grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. Friday, May 11.
