Mrs. Cook died Thursday, March 22, 2012, at The Oaks at Scenic View in Baldwin.
Born Nov. 26, 1937, in Hall County, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Lee Waldon and Clara Vinson Waldon. She was a widow of Donnie Barrett and first married to Edward Cook. Mrs. Cook was also preceded in death by her brothers, Walter Waldon and Roy Waldon, and her sister, Burndine Elliott.
She was a homemaker and a member of Cornelia Congregational Holiness Church. Mrs. Cook loved the piano, flowers and singing.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Michael Martin of Toccoa; son, Doug Cook of Ellettsville, Ind.; son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Stephanie Cook of Enoree, S.C.; sisters, Halene Waldrip of Gainesville, Willene Tolbert of Highlands, Calif.; brothers, Bud Waldon, Carl Waldon and Tony Waldon, all of Alto; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
