Funeral services for Jon Bonnette, 53, of Douglasville, and formerly of Clarkesville, are scheduled for 2 p.m. today, Sept. 7, at the Clarkesville Mill Concert Hall with the Rev. Shawn Smith officiating. A private family burial will be held later.

Mr. Bonnette died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012.

Born Aug. 2, 1959, in Aiken S.C., he was the son of Virginia Knight Bonnette and the late Rev. E.O. “Del” Bonnette.

Mr. Bonnette was a loving father, son, brother, and uncle. He was a self-employed painter. In addition, he was a talented musician having been with the Travis Tritt Band for 13 years and also Lynrd Skynrd, Charlie Daniels and other Nashville artists.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, are his daughters, Victoria Fuller Bidez of Douglasville, and Jessica Bonnette of Dawsonville; sister, Freida Bonnette Alexander of Clarkesville; brother, Joel Bonnette and fiancé, Tammy Johnson, of Dahlonega; sister and brother-in-law, Eulanne Bonnette and Ed Lyle of Hollywood; and several nieces and nephews.
