Funeral services for Kenneth Mann, 69, of Mt. Airy, are scheduled for 2 p.m. today, Aug. 29, at Clarkesville Church of God with the Rev. Tim Tanner and the Rev. Donald Newell officiating. Burial will follow in the Grant Reeves VFW Post Cemetery with full military honors provided by Grant Reeves VFW Post No. 7720, Rabun County DAV Chapter No. 15, American Legion Post No. 84 and the Georgia National Guard Funeral Honors.

Mr. Mann went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012.

Born Feb. 1, 1943, in Concord, N.C., he was the son of the late Arthur and Mary Elizabeth Jackson Mann. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Mona Dale Mann, and great-granddaughter, Kaydence Elizabeth Mechelle Holler.

He was retired from Walmart and was a dedicated and devoted member of Clarkesville Church of God. Mr. Mann served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He enjoyed fishing, collecting antiques and helping others.

Surviving are his loving wife of 43 years, Gail Newell Mann of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Kendall and Susan Mann of Clarkesville; daughter, Teresa Nesbitt of Homer; brother, Charles Mann of Kannapolis, N.C.; grandchildren, Krystal Ashe, Brandon Thompson, Brittany Nichols, Lauren, Jacob and Lydia Mann; great-grandchildren, Peyton and Conner Ashe, Dexter Thompson, Kyleigh and Jullian Nichols.
