Downtown events, especially those attracting first-time visitors, are a boon for everyone.
When heaping hospitality is added to the itinerary for new friends, it provides an added boost to our community’s reputation.
We applaud the efforts of the many volunteers and city employees who worked tirelessly to make the barbecue competitors feel welcome. Thanks also to the many residents and others who arrived hungry to sample contest entries or just soak up the lively atmosphere.
Everyone walked away with a plateful of satisfaction. Like many of the pro and amateur grill-masters, we can’t wait until next year.
