Celebration of life services for Linda Canup, 68, of Sautee-Nacoochee, are scheduled for 2 p.m. today, July 11, at Barrett Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Michael Wilkes, the Rev. Mike Owens and the Rev. Hardy Owen officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Canup died Sunday, July 8, 2012, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta following an extended illness.

Born May, 31, 1944, in West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late James and Laura Lockhart Walls. She also was preceded in death by her son, Tony Canup; brothers, Johnny Walls and Ralph Walls; and sister, Wanda Walls.

Mrs. Canup was employed by State Farm Insurance Company and was a member of Center Baptist Church in Helen.

Survivors include her husband, Lamar Canup of Sautee Nacoochee; son and daughter-in-law, Casey and Wendy Canup of Dawsonville; granddaughter, Kamrie Canup of Dawsonville; brothers, Bob Walls of Roderfield, W.Va., Frank Walls of Princeton, W.Va., and Jim Walls of Max Meadows, Va.; sister, Elizabeth Hanshaw of Princeton, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
