Funeral services for Lou Emma Hames Elsberry, 92, of Tucson, Ariz., and formerly of Habersham County, will be held at 2 p.m. today, April 27, at Hillside Memorial Chapel with David Rose officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Bethlehem Baptist Church cemetery.

Mrs. Elsberry died April 19, 2012, in Tucson, Ariz.

Born July 27, 1928, in Clarkesville, she was the daughter of the late John R. Jr. and Sallie Hames. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Watson Elsberry; brother, Robert Lee Hames; and sisters, Nannie Mae Morrison and Rachel Nichols.

She was a graduate of Berry College with a bachelor’s degree in education and she was a homemaker.

Survivors include her daughter, Judy Elsberry Fish of Tucson, Ariz.; brothers, Reynold Hames of Finger, Tenn., and Bill Hames of Roanoke, Va.; sister and brother-in-law, Ethel and Wandell Wells of Roswell; five grandsons, Douglas Wesley Fish and Brian Andrew Fish, both of Tucson, Ariz.; and great-grandchildren, Caroline, Benjamin, Zackary and Eli.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. Friday, April 27.
