Funeral services for Lt. Ricky J. Mull, 41, of Alto, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, at Good News Baptist Church with the Rev. Austin Kelley and the Rev. Tully Griggs officiating. Burial followed in Hillside Memorial Gardens with honors provided by the Hall County Sheriff’s Department.

Lt. Mull died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, at Habersham Medical Center.

Born March 14, 1971, in Towns County, he was a retired lieutenant with Lee Arrendale State Prison. He attended Free Chapel Worship Center and enjoyed the outdoors with his children, especially hunting, fishing and hiking. Mr. Mull was an avid University of Georgia football fan and a fellow Mason. Above all else, Ricky’s life was centered around spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Troy Henderson; father-in-law, Steve Erwin; and brother-in-law, Matthew Erwin.

Surviving are his wife, Jessica Erwin Mull of Alto; sons, Brandon and Taylor Mitchell of Alto, Nathan Mull of Robinsville, N.C., and Christian Mull of Gainesville; mother, Judy Mulkey Henderson of Warne, N.C.; father and fiancée, Harold Mull and Margaret Donaldson of Blairsville; sisters, Jodie Mull of Blue Ridge, Amanda Mull of Athens and Lindsey Mull of Lawrenceville; brothers, Terry Henderson of Warne, N.C., Randy Mull of Marion, N.C., and Jamie Mull of Blairsville; mother-in-law, Charlene Erwin of Demorest; sister-in-law and husband, Lacey and Paul Johnson of Demorest; nieces, Audrie Grace and Makenna Johnson; and one grandson.

Memorials may be made to Masonic Home of Georgia, 1417 Nottingham Drive, Macon, GA 31211, or to the charity of one’s choice.
