Funeral services for Pearl H. Allen, 88, of Clarkesville, are scheduled for 11 a.m. today, May 16, at the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with Joan Curtis and the Rev. Brent Holcomb officiating. Burial will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Allen died Sunday, May 13, 2012, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born Jan. 19, 1924, in Habersham County, she was a daughter of the late Jasper and Naoma Holcomb. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Lee Allen; and sisters, Mae Knight and Pauline Rogers.

Mrs. Allen was a retired clerical assistant with Scovill Manufacturing and was a member of Hills Crossing Baptist Church. Some of her hobbies included gardening, crocheting, quilting, reading and working crossword puzzles.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, David and Patsy Allen of Demorest; daughter, Elaine Porter of Clarkesville; brothers, Lawrence Holcomb of Atlanta, J.D. Holcomb of Cornelia, and Homer Holcomb of Mt. Airy; sisters, Ethel Bristol of Sautee, and Oma Lee Crawford of Surgoinsville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Seth and SusAnn Allen, Sy and Beth Allen, and Shea Allen; great-grandchildren, Bralen Allen and Brantley Allen.
