Funeral services for the Rev. Frank F. Ledford, 87, of Mt. Airy, formerly of Murphy, N.C., were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy, N.C., with Dr. Robert Driggers, the Rev. Parker Burgess and the Rev. Enoch Martin officiating. Burial will be in New Martins Creek Baptist Cemetery.

Rev. Ledford died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, at his residence.

He was the son of the late William Ervin and Zadie Flora Loudermilk Ledford and the husband of the late Parilee Haney Ledford, who died Sept. 30, 1966.

Rev. Ledford was a native of Cheokee County but had been living in Habersham County for the past seven years. Frank had worked as a pipe fitter and was a Baptist minister, retiring from Grace Baptist Church in Doraville. He was also a member of Morning Star Baptist Church in Commerce.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Stockton Mize; three daughters, Doris Raper and husband, Goldman, of Murphy, N.C., Betty Lousie Singleton of Lawrenceville, Gail Howard and husband, Dennis, of East Sparta, Ohio; stepson, Kale Mize of Clarkesville; seven grandchildren, Todd Howard of Louisville, Ohio, Kimalee Tomblin of East Sparta, N.C., Jarrette Leonard of Rockmart, Kathy Cliff of Athens, Glenda Ware of Blue Ridge, and Joann Moore and Debbie Brown, both of Murphy, N.C.; and 16 great-grandchildren.
