Memorial services for Robert Eugene Groemminger, 66, of Clarkesville were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, at Hillside Memorial Chapel with Deacon Rev. Richard Marinchak officiating. Full military honors were provided by the United States Navy.

Mr. Groemminger died May 13, 2013, at his residence.

Born Dec. 6, 1946, in Rochester, N.Y., he was the son of the late Werner “Fred” M. and Elizabeth “Betty” Groemminger.

Mr. Groemminger was a United States Navy veteran, having served during the Vietnam Conflict. He was in construction sales for Lowe’s Inc. and he was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church. Mr. Groemminger was a member of the American Legion and the 40/8 Club and he enjoyed boating and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Linda L. Groemminger of Clarkesville; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Amy Groemminger of Clarkesville; son, Jeffery Groemminger of Ludlow, Vt.; brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Sue Groemminger of Rochester, N.Y., and Edward and Sharon Groemminger of Cleveland; sister, Anna Marie Groemminger of Rochester, N.Y.; as well as two grandchildren.
