Funeral services for Robert L. Farmer, 75, of Cornelia, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at Old Nacoochee Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Pilcher, the Rev. Bill Trotter and the Rev. Greg Pruitt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Farmer will lie in state at the church on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour. Friends and family are requested to assemble at the church no later than 1:45 p.m. on Saturday.

Mr. Farmer died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014.

Born April 25, 1938, in White County, he was a son of the late Robert A. Farmer and Mae Belle Sosebee Farmer.

Mr. Farmer was a retired supervisor for the city of Roswell and was a member of Old Nacoochee Missionary Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Ruby Lee Goss Farmer of Cornelia; sons, David Wayne Brock, Randy Scott Farmer and Larry Farmer, all of Cornelia, Joseph Farmer of Alto; daughters, Joyce Ann Marcus of Alto and Tina Denise Martin of Cornelia; sisters, Barbara Henderson of Roswell and Patsy Curtian of Powder Springs; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today, Jan. 24.
