Funeral services for Ruby Wilson Wiley, 75, of Lula, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 27, at Living Word Tabernacle in Lula with the Rev. Glenn Compton, the Rev. Bobby Carter and the Rev. Harold Pettis officiating. Burial will follow in Clemmons Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Wiley fought her fight and finished her course and went to be with her Lord on Jan. 24, 2012, at her residence.

Born Sept. 1, 1936, in Banks County, she was the daughter of the late Hallie and Fannie Merritt Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Claudie Craven and Maudie Bennett; and brothers, Eugene and Joe Wilson.

She was a homemaker and an active member of Living Word Tabernacle. Mrs. Wiley enjoyed mowing the lawn, cooking and gardening but most of all caring for others.

Survivors include her loving husband of 59 years, Julian Wiley; daughter and son-in-law, Miriam and Allen McElwaney of Gainesville; son, William Wiley of Lula; sons and daughters-in-law, Ray and Freda Wiley and Phillip and Greta Wiley, all of Lula; sister, Barbara Payne of Gainesville; brothers, William Wilson of Homer and Donald Wilson of Gillsville.
