Funeral services for Mrs. Willard Lee Pruitt, 85, of Cornelia, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 16, at Level Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Brian James and the Rev. Terry Rice officiating. Burial followed in Level Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Pruitt died Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born May 15, 1927, in Banks County, she was the daughter of the late Williford and Ada Sanders. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Dwayne Pruitt, and sister, Mary Will Cochran.

Mrs. Pruitt was a homemaker and devoted and active member of Level Grove Baptist Church, where she was a Children’s Sunday School teacher for more than 30 years, member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class, the WMUs, and the Sunshine Band Senior Adult Group. She was an avid University of Georgia football and Atlanta Braves baseball fan and enjoyed her flowers. Mrs. Pruitt loved her church, children, grandchildren, great-granddaughter, and her Alston Ridge and The Oaks Retirement Home family.

Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Wanda Pruitt of Cornelia and Ricky and Kathy Pruitt of Clarkesville; grandchildren, Chelie and Jimmy Mize of Toccoa, Chris Pruitt of the Batesville Community and Ashley Pruitt of Clarkesville; great-granddaughter, Abigail Mize; brother and sister-in-law, Preston Ray and Jimmie Sanders of Homer; numerous nieces and nephews.
