Memorial services for Mary Virginia Hudgins Lamb, 68, of Alto, formerly of Decatur, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at First Baptist Church of Decatur, 308 Clairemont Ave., with the Rev. Bob Williamson officiating.

The family will receive friends after the service on Saturday.

Burial services were held at Resthaven Garden of Memory in Decatur on Monday, Oct. 10.

Mrs. Lamb died Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, at her residence.

Born Sept. 16, 1943, in Laurinburg, N.C., she was a daughter of the late James Phillip and Mary Bethel Jones Hudgins.

Mrs. Lamb taught history in the DeKalb County School System. She later became a special education teacher and then an elementary school counselor, also in DeKalb County. Mrs. Lamb was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Robin Lamb of Lilburn; son, Phillip Edgar Lamb of Decatur; sister and brother-in-law, Fleda and Paul Aaron of Monument, Colo.; brother and sister-in-law, James Phillip Jr. and Mary Ann Lamb of Grand Prairie, Texas; grandsons, Gavin Lamb and Aidan Lamb; and special friend, Adrianne Bonham.

The family would like to give a special thanks to her caregivers, Candace, Donnarae, Katie, Brenda, Dianne, Mary Jo, Therena and Vicki.
