Mr. Simons died Monday, Oct. 24, 2011.
Born July 13, 1918, in Prattsburgh, N.Y., he was the son of the late Allen G. and Bertha Dillenbeck Simons.
Mr. Simons was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Clarkesville, and was a farmer and upholsterer with the State Hospital of New York.
Survivors include his wife, Grace Covert Simons of Murphy, N.C.; son, Ray Stewart Simons of Highpoint, N.C.; daughter, Phyllis Janosko of Murphy, N.C.; sisters, Clara Babcock and Esther Damboise, both of Prattsburgh, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
