Funeral services for Watt Brady, 86, of Demorest, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, with the Rev. Roy Rogers officiating. Burial followed in Yonah Memorial Gardens with full military honors provided by the American Legion Post No. 84, Rabun County Disabled American Veterans Chapter 15 and Grant Reeves VFW No. 7720, as well as Masonic graveside rites.

Mr. Brady died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011.

Born Nov. 28, 1924, in Habersham County, he was the son of the late Claude William and Sallie Caudell Brady. Mr. Brady was a member of National Heights Baptist Church, Fayetteville. He was a life member of Sinclair Masonic Lodge No. 194 F&AM in West Columbia, S.C., and a life member of Grant Reeves VFW Post No. 7720. Mr. Brady was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in World War II. He was a retired Aviation Air Traffic Controller with 34 years of service.

Survivors include his former wife, Fran Brady of Demorest; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Randy Johnson of Jonesboro; sisters, Katie Williams of Clarkesville, and Edith Knudsen III of Sunnyvale, Calif.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
