Loyd “June” Junior Jones

Funeral services for Loyd “June” Junior Jones, 79, of Demorest, were held at 11 a.m., Dec. 24. Burial followed in Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Jones died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011 at Habersham County Medical Center.

He was born in Rabun County and was the son of the late Ed and Mary Brock Jones.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Jones, and four brothers, Ansel Jones, Lawrence Jones, Cart Jones and Lewis Jones.

He is survived by his loving wife, Norma Barnell Kendall Jones of the home; two sons, Scott Jones and his wife April of Clayton, Chris Jones of Dahlonega; and one daughter, Jeanne Pudelski and her husband James of Demorest; and a sister, Susie Phillips of Lakemont. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Kendall Jones, Sutton Jones, Allana Jones, Terrina Jones, and Anthony Pudelski.

He was a carpenter with Dent Thompson Construction Company and enjoyed being a part of Foxfire, where the children had written about him.

Memorial donations in Loyd Jones’ memory may be made to Flat Creek Baptist Church, 1430 Low Gap Road, Lakemont, GA 30552.
