Funeral services for Grace Mozelle Benfield Pruitt, 92, of the Batesville Community, Clarkesville, were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Hillside Memorial Chapel with Robert Nichols officiating. Burial followed the service in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Pruitt died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, at Habersham Home West.

Born Sept. 24, 1919, in Habersham County, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Stella Arrendale Benfield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, O.L. Pruitt; sisters, Cora Lee Moore and Clara Burrell; and brothers, Latt, Jim, and Gene Benfield.

Mrs. Pruitt was a member of Providence Baptist Church and she worked for 35 years at LaPrade’s Camp on Lake Burton.

Survivors include sisters, Mary Jo Benfield Carr of Tillamook, Ore., and Lillian Benfield Ward of Clarkesville; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as special family friends, the Wallace Nichols Family.
