Mr. Crocker died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at his residence.
Born May 11, 1919, he was a son of the late James Dayton and Ollie Parker Crocker. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Stanley Wayne Crocker; sisters, Mary Tims, Lanora Groover, Winnie Crocker; and brothers, Coy Lee Crocker and Laster Crocker.
Mr. Crocker was a member of Mt. Sinai Congregational Holiness Church and was retired from Mt. Vernon Mills. He was a life-long resident of Banks County and fought with the U.S. Army on the front lines in Germany during World War II. Mr. Crocker was an evangelist who enjoyed reading his Bible, fellowshipping with others and gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Rachel Elizabeth Sartin Crocker of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Swayne and Willie Mae Crocker of Cornelia and Ronnie and Nancy Crocker of Cornelia; daughters and sons-in-law, Evalene and Lewis Davidson, Brenda and Arthur Arrowood, Magalene and Samuel Pruitt; daughter-in-law, Jeanette Duncan Crocker of Lula; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today, Jan. 11.
