Funeral services for Agnes Joyce Kimbrell, 78, of Mt. Airy, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 12, at Welcome Home Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Ryals officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Ms. Kimbrell died Saturday, March 10, 2012, at her residence following an extended illness.

Born Aug. 23, 1933, in Banks County, she was a daughter of the late George and Martha Elizabeth Ward Kimbrell.

Ms. Kimbrell was retired from Carwood Manufacturing, where she worked for many years, and was a member of Welcome Home Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was an avid animal lover.

Survivors include her son, Randy Kimbrell, grandchildren, Morgan and Kevin Blakley, great-grandchildren, Kasen and Caroline, all of Mt. Airy; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Dorothy Kimbrell, Bradley and Mavis Kimbrell, all of Mt. Airy; sisters, Geraldine Hunt of Toccoa, Ouida Hardy and Mary Fay Brookshire, both of Demorest; many nieces, nephews, other relatives; and her faithful companion, Misty the Dog.

Memorials may be made to the John B. Gesbocker Animal Shelter of Habersham County, 555 Monroe St., Unit 20, Clarkesville, GA 30523.
