Funeral services for John Dillard “J.D.” Wiley, 82, of Gainesville, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 19, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, with the Rev. Perry Smith officiating. Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery, Gainesville, with the Rev. Wayne Hicks officiating.

Mr. Wiley died Saturday, March 17, 2012, following an extended illness.

Born Oct. 6, 1929, in Banks County, he was the son of the late Henry and Mattie Eubanks Wiley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Gerrin Wiley; and three sisters, Edna Epperson, Mary Chitwood and Louise York.

Mr. Wiley was of the Baptist Faith and was retired from William Wrigley Company.

Survivors include special friends, Paul and Lois Patterson of Gainesville, and several nieces and nephews.
