Funeral services for Lorene Collins Goss, 85, of Clarkesville, are scheduled for 11 a.m. today, April 11, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, with the Rev. Tony Goss and the Rev. Connie Berry officiating. Burial will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Goss died Sunday, April 8, 2012, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Born Jan. 14, 1927, in White County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Spurgeon and Maudina Davis Collins. She also was preceded in death by her son, S.T. Goss Jr.; daughter-in-law, Jeanette Goss; brothers, Sherry and Ralph Collins; and sister, Irene Collins.

Mrs. Goss retired from Scovill Manufacturing with 27 years of dedicated service and was a member of Stonepile Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, S.T. Goss Sr. of Hiawassee; daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Larry Mize of Clarkesville; son, Charles Goss of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Becky Goss of Clarkesville; sister, Dorothy Hames of Demorest; brother, C.J. Collins of Jonesboro; eight grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one stepgreat-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
