Funeral services for Thelma Walker Webb, 85, of Clarkesville, were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, at Mount Carmel Baptist Church, Demorest, with the Rev. Russ Barker and Dr. Butch Franklin officiating. Entombment followed in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Webb died Saturday, April 21, 2012, in Demorest.

Born Sept. 18, 1926, in Wilkes County, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Cora Walker.

She lived most of her life in Chamblee, before moving to Clarkesville in 2001. Thelma married Mack C. Webb in 1946. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mack, in 2003; and her sister, Dot Walker, in 2008.

Thelma loved the Lord Jesus and loved teaching the Bible. She taught Bible studies at her home, at times, and taught the Bible in Sunday Schools at churches to which she belonged. Since moving to Clarkesville, Thelma was a member and taught at Mount Carmel Baptist Church, Demorest.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Calvin and Lynda Webb of Pattison, Texas; son, Donnie Webb of Canton; daughter, Phyllis Webb of Clarkesville; three grandsons, Wendell and Carrie Webb of Winterberg, Germany, Christopher, and Kristin Webb of Palacios, Texas, and Don Webb of Canton; five great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Joshua Webb of Winterberg, Germany, Tyler, Timothy and Rachel Webb of Palacios, Texas; sisters, Helen Stephens of Maysville, Betty and Gene Bustard of Greenville, S.C., and Jackie and Johnny Billue of Cornelia.
