Mr. Gailey died Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Stephens County Hospital.
Born August 5, 1939, in Banks County, he was preceded in death by his father, Shelton Gailey, and a son, Michael Gailey.
Mr. Gailey was a veteran of the United States Army Reserve. He was a retired poultry farmer and was formerly employed with International Furniture for a numbers of years. Mr. Gailey also manufactured wood furniture and bee supplies. People came from all over the area to purchase his corn and watermelons. He enjoyed auctions, driving antique tractors and a miniature 1932 Model T. Ford Roadster in parades.
Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Pauline Byrd Gailey of Baldwin; mother, Rubie Wilbanks Gailey of Baldwin; son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Laura Gailey of Baldwin; sister, Jackie Gailey of Baldwin; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Jean Gailey of Baldwin; four grandchildren, Morgan and Madison Gailey, both of Baldwin, Courtney and Emily Gailey, both of Canon; and mother-in-law, Cleola Crump Byrd of Toccoa.
