Mrs. Porter died Sunday, May 6, 2012.
Born Aug. 14, 1940, in White County, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Garnett Campbell and Ruth Mauldin Campbell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Robert Hicks; and sisters-in-law, Ellen Autry Campbell, Nathalie Gabrels Campbell and Betty Lovell Campbell.
Mrs. Porter was a member of Amy’s Creek Baptist Church and was retired from the medical field, having served as the office administrator for an OB/GYN in Marietta.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, David and Andrea Porter of Ellijay; brothers, G.C. Campbell of Clermont, the Rev. Donald Campbell of Clarkesville, and James Campbell of Social Circle; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Ted Roberts; grandson and wife, Kevin and Bree Kirby; grandsons, Scott Kirby and Shaun Kirby; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
