Funeral services for Clyde Ward, 81, of Alto, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 6, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Demorest with Dr. Charles Holland and the Rev. Russ Barker officiating. Burial followed in Calvary’s Cross Baptist Church Cemetery in Clermont, with the Rev. Charles Taylor officiating.

Mr. Ward died Thursday, May 3, 2012, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born Dec. 30, 1930, in Hall County, he was a son of the late Frank and Fannie Jackson Ward. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Ruth Deamie Parson Ward, and son, Wayne Allen Ward.

Mr. Ward was the retired owner of Ward Construction Company with 40 years of service. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Demorest.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Jerry Reddish of Demorest; daughter-in-law, Barbara Ward of Clarkesville; son, Dale Ward of Alto; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Kay Ward and Ricky and Cindy Ward, both of Alto; sisters, Betty Tedder of Gastonia, N.C., and Jimmie Lou Bryant of Charlotte, N.C.; brother, Dave Ward of Ft. Myers, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Benevolence Fund at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 988 Historic Highway 441 North, Demorest, GA 30535.
