Mrs. Allen died Sunday, May 13, 2012, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born Jan. 19, 1924, in Habersham County, she was a daughter of the late Jasper and Naoma Holcomb. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Lee Allen; and sisters, Mae Knight and Pauline Rogers.
Mrs. Allen was a retired clerical assistant with Scovill Manufacturing and was a member of Hills Crossing Baptist Church. Some of her hobbies included gardening, crocheting, quilting, reading and working crossword puzzles.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, David and Patsy Allen of Demorest; daughter, Elaine Porter of Clarkesville; brothers, Lawrence Holcomb of Atlanta, J.D. Holcomb of Cornelia, and Homer Holcomb of Mt. Airy; sisters, Ethel Bristol of Sautee, and Oma Lee Crawford of Surgoinsville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Seth and SusAnn Allen, Sy and Beth Allen, and Shea Allen; great-grandchildren, Bralen Allen and Brantley Allen.
