Funeral services for C.T. Bellamy, 85, of Cornelia, were held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, June 14, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, with the Rev. Chris York officiating. Burial followed in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Bellamy died Tuesday, June 12, 2012.

Born March 28, 1927, in Banks County, he was a son of the late Emmitt P. and Gladys McDuffie Bellamy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Luerine Turner Bellamy; his brother, Roger Bellamy; and his sister, JoAnn Coker.

Mr. Bellamy was a broom maker for the Habersham and Cornelia Broom companies, where he retired after more than 50 years of service. He was a member of Nails Creek Baptist Church and an avid Atlanta Braves fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. One of his greatest pleasures was his granddaughter, Kristen.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Terry Burger of Cornelia; sisters and brothers-in-law, Francine and Chandler Ward of Cornelia, Shirley and Leon Wilkinson of Cornelia, and Pat and Billy Trotter of Alto; sister, Ruth Barrett of Alto; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Kathleen Bellamy of Baldwin, Bob and Joyce Bellamy of Baldwin, and Buck and Carolyn Bellamy of Mt. Airy; brother-in-law and his wife, Omer Ray and Opal Coker of Alto; sister-in-law, Evelyn Bellamy of Baldwin; granddaughter and her husband, Kristen and Paul Cloud of Dahlonega; special friends, Harvey and Margie Adams of Clarkesville; and caregiver, Annette Hix of Alto.
