A graveside service for Beverly Burrell Canup, 68, of Toccoa, was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Enon Baptist Church Cemetery, Alto, with the Rev. Terry Rice officiating.

Ms. Canup died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, following an extended illness.

Born May 23, 1944, in Gainesville, she was the daughter of the late Cortez and Edna Snyder Burrell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Canup, and sister, Joyce Jones.

Ms. Canup was a veteran of the United States Navy. She was a member of Level Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Susan Burrell of Dahlonega; nieces, Alison Brown, Amy and Stuart Sugg, Tiffany Vanmeter and Leeann Vanmeter; greatniece and greatnephews, Addie Brown, Cameron and Noah Sugg; and close personal friend, Larry Bowden.
