Mrs. Ivey died Sept. 13, 2012.
Born in Atlanta, she was the daughter of the late David and Rosa Hooper. Her beloved husband, Bernard Ivey, and cherished daughter, Susan Ivey, predeceased her.
Juanita was dedicated to her family, friends and church. She grew up in Stephens County and lived most of her life in Habersham County. Juanita was a strong supporter of her community – Scouting and the Daughters of the American Revolution were among her many pursuits.
She is survived by her sons, Hal (Connie) Ivey of West Chester, Pa., Pete (Debbie) Ivey of Birmingham, Ala., and Terrell “Tim” (Kendra) Ivey of Cumming; brother, Bill Hooper of Lucas, Texas; and seven much-loved grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center of Emory University, c/o Emory University Health Sciences Department, 1440 Clifton Road, Ste. 112, Atlanta, GA 30322.
