Funeral services for Elbert Bradford Greemon, 98, of Clarkesville, will be held at 11 a.m. today, Sept. 26, at Hillside Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Anthony Shore and the Rev. Chris York officiating. Burial will follow in Clarkesville Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Greemon died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, following a period of declining health.

Born Sept. 17, 1914, in Habersham County, he was the son of the late Bill and Sarah Hall Greemon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Beulah Greemon. He is the last surviving member of his immediate family.

He was a self-employed finish carpenter and a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Mr. Greemon was a United States Navy veteran.

Survivors include nephews and nieces, Jesse Smith, Tony Greemon, Gail Greemon Von Cannon, Irene Greemon Church Carpenter, Christine Greemon Palmer, Ann Greemon Leanord, Linda Greemon Phillips, Mike Ward, Junior Ward, Betty Gragg, Beverly McVey, Tommy Cash, Bertha Lee Green, Frances Ledford and Ruth Mealor.
