Mr. Enloe died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Habersham Medical Center.
Born Oct. 1, 1918, in Franklin, N.C., he was the son of the late Charles D. and Rebecca Vance Enloe. In addition to his parents, he also was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Mae Drinnon Enloe; son, Charles David Enloe; three brothers and one sister. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Mr. Enloe was a member of Cornelia United Methodist Church and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Cornelia and Gainesville. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served as an engineer in Italy during World War II. He was a past commander of the former Habersham Chapter of Disabled American Veterans. He also enjoyed gardening and woodworking.
Survivors include his son, James Vance Enloe of Toccoa; daughter and son-in-law, Freda and Victor Mihill of Adelphia, Md.; grandchildren, David, Mark and Tim Mihill, Scott Enloe and Melissa McCain; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30.
