Mr. Parrish died at his residence Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012.
He was born in Emanuel County, and was the son of the late George Albert and Quinee Lamb Parrish. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, John Parrish; a brother, George A. Parrish; and two sisters, Beatrice Yoemans and Nandine Turner.
Mr. Parrish was vice president of the Bank of Clayton for a number of years, was a member of the National Guard and attended Antioch Baptist Church in Mt. Airy.
Mr. Parrish is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte Gleeson Parrish; a son, Jeff Parrish and his wife Shana of Easley, S.C.; a daughter, Debbie Parrish; stepdaughters, Judith and Rich Panico of Athens, Corrie and David Overton of Clarkesville; stepsons, Charles and Nancy Jackson of Athens, Richard and Ann Spears of Clarkesville, and James and Juliet Spears of Woodbridge, England; five grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild.
