Mr. Hunter died peacefully at his residence, from natural causes, on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012.
Born Dec. 24, 1966, in Rabun County, he was the son of the late Rev. Ernest Carlton Sr. and Errie Eller Hunter.
Mr. Hunter attended Clarkesville Church of God and was formerly a self-employed contractor. He was a piano enthusiast and also enjoyed other instruments such as the saxophone, harmonica, drums and guitars.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Kim Martin Hunter of Cornelia; son, Alston Carlton Hunter of Cornelia; daughter, Adrianna Dessie Hunter of Cornelia; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathy Carpenter (Thurman) of Clarkesville, Diane Hunter of Clarkesville and Jackie Kent of Demorest, Golda Shubert (Larry) of Demorest and Tracy Allison (Chris) of Mt. Airy; sisters, Sheila Carson of Demorest and Vickie Hunter of Augusta; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jerry and Joy Martin of Cornelia; sister-in-law, Christy Thornton (the Rev. Jason) of Demorest; brother-in-law, Shannon Martin (LeAnne) of Franklin, N.C.; numerous nieces and nephews.
